What’s New Reports

Reports have been added to Chris Korte’s New Zealand Genealogy Project website that enable finding ALL people records which were added, modified or updated (1) in the most recent update, (2) during the 2023 calendar year, and (3) in the 2022 calendar year. The What’s New page lists information about what is new on Chris Korte’s New Zealand Genealogy Project website, but is limited to 20 most recent photographs, documents, headstones, people changes and family changes.

The reports are designed to assist those who visit the site repeatedly at different times. They can check the report for family names they are interested in to see if there have been modifications, additions and updates. The reports are sorted alphabetically by last name, then first name.

Reports can only be viewed by users who log in to Chris Korte’s New Zealand Genealogy Project website.

The figure below shows the first page of the Update report for August 2023. Between 19 March 2023 and the upload on 27 August 2023 over 1300 people in the genealogy database had their information modified or added, plus 233 who are not listed as their last name is not known. It was estimated that of the 1300 people with information modified, approximately 55% were additions to the database (new people), and the remaining 45% had modifications to their data.

The What’s New page also has links to a separate webpage that lists the website history for Chris Korte’s New Zealand Genealogy Project: GEDCOM file uploads, the dates of upload, what the main GEDCOM changes were, acknowledgement of people providing information, media additions, software changes and enhancements to the website. GEDCOM changes are listed from 2007.

The reports do not list family information updated as this is not recorded in the Brothers Keeper software used. This could include changes to children, addition/modification of family information (e.g. residence, marriage details).
