Chris Korte’s NZ Genealogy Project website was updated on 14 December 2023. The update resulted in addition of over 350 people to the family tree, plus a number of corrections, and addition of over 50 people photos and 40 headstone photos. NZ Online Marriage registers were checked to obtain over 350 marriage dates to replace marriage year already known.
The website has a report listing 600 people updated on the site between 28 Aug 2023 and 14 Dec 2023. They are new individuals added to the family tree, or individuals who have had some information updated/added. It is hoped that this report, and the other reports available, will assist site users check for changes. Reports can only be viewed when logged in to the website.

Considerable time was spent researching the life of Coralie Stanley or Coralie Stanley McKellar (1893-?). Notes and several documents were added to her webpage. Coralie was unusual for her time, being independent and adventurous, known in Australia and New Zealand for her acting, singing, writing, and reporting. My research was undertaken to discover where she died, but I have yet to discover where she and her daughter ended up – United Kingdom, Europe or the USA? I will add a separate post on Coralie.
I discovered that I had the wrong parents for John Lawrence BERKAHN and had confused him with John Ivan BERKAHN. John Lawrence BERKAHN now has the correct parents from Maraekakaho and John Ivan BERKAHN was added to the website, attached to his parents from Takapau.
As more birth records become available on the New Zealand Online Birth registers it becomes possible to check if there are additional children in families. Three additional children, previously not in the family tree, were born between 1919 and 1925 in the family of Christian CHRISTENSEN (1874-1950). As a result these children were added, their spouses and descendants. There are some other families that I will need to check!
